How to remove calendar widget from desktop in Cyanogenmod

I accidentally added some stock calendar widget to my desktop (on Cyanogenmod 10.1.2), and, well, as the title suggests, I had trouble removing it. Unlike the other widget I couldn’t just press it a few seconds to catch it and trash it (of course, the homescreen was unlocked). I eventually managed to get rid of it by deactivating the persistent search bar (and then when I reactivated it, the calendar widget was gone). That was actually a good occasion to get rid of the Google search bar. Cf screenshots:
